My name is Omolade Dorcas Abidemi, I'm a graduate of Linguistics and Yoruba, from the University of Lagos. I joined Wikipedia in 2019, and I've been an active contributor to the Yoruba Wikipedia ever since then. My passion for contributing to free knowledge in the Yoruba language, love for the promotion and development of the language and as well as my zeal towards keeping the language from going into extinction is one of my major reasons for joining the Wikimedia community. I am the founder of Yoruba Wikipedia Fan-club in University of Lagos, which was established in 2022. I am presently the programs officer and Wikipedian-in-Residence, at the International Centre for Yoruba Arts and Culture, Ibadan for the Yorùbá Wikimedians User Group. I have participated in several contests and I have over 400 articles written in Yoruba language. I was awarded the Best Indigenous language contributor by the Wikimedian Nigeria User Group in 2024, as a result of my active contributions to a language Wikipedia.
